As your Ward 6 City of Mississauga and Region of Peel Councillor, I would like to take this opportunity to not only welcome you to Mississauga but to our dynamic Ward 6 community. You will soon discover, if you have not already done so, that our community is a great place in which to live, work and play. The City of Mississauga has been designed to provide easy access to a multitude of services from Mississauga transit, recreational facilities, schools, parks and more to make life as convenient as possible.
In Ward 6, you will find many amenities close to your home. Our main recreation facility is River Grove Community Centre. River Grove boasts a wide variety of activities for you and your family to enjoy including fitness classes, a swimming pool, sport leagues, and outdoor amenities including tennis courts, a playground and walking trails as well as meeting rooms. One of the largest shopping districts in Mississauga known as Heartland Town Centre is very close and offers a wide variety of store options. Both the Peel District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board provide schooling in the area and Credit Valley Hospitalas well as Trillium Health Centre offer exceptional medical care.
A true gem in our community is Riverwood Park located at Burnhamthorpe West and The Credit Woodlands. Riverwood Park offers a truly unique experience to its visitors. You can enjoy the Culham Trail and a scenic footpath located on the eastern valley. While walking, keep your eyes open for white-tailed deer, a variety of birds, squirrels and other animals that make Riverwood their home. The Riverwood Conservancy and Visual Arts Mississauga are also located at Riverwood and offer a variety of programs for children and adults to enjoy.
I hope that you will find the information enclosed in this package helpful whether you are a new resident to Mississauga or if you simply moved within the City or our ward.
