About Ron

Ron was elected in 2010 to Council to represent Ward 6 in the City of Mississauga and Region of Peel. Ron also served as Ward 7 Councillor for the City of Mississauga and Region of Peel between the years of 1978 – 1980.

When people meet Ron they recognize his qualifications and expertise, gained through many years of private and public service. They also see a leader – an individual that is dedicated to represent the residents of Mississauga and is not afraid to speak out on any issue. Ron is committed to the community groups that make up the City of Mississauga. This dedication, along with his extensive charitable activities has earned him significant recognition within the community. 

Prior to entering municipal politics in 2010, Ron served as President of Deanlee Management Inc., a family owned development, planning, building and land use consultant firm. Beginning operation in 1980, the firm has managed, consulted and/or participated in over $1 Billion in completed projects. This involved commercial, industrial and residential projects in the Greater Toronto Area. 

Ron is a 30-year veteran of the Enersource Hydro Mississauga Board (now Alectra), having served in all positions including Chair for six years. During his tenure as Chair in 2000, he was appointed Acting President and Chief Executive Officer on an interim basis, as the utility’s two shareholders, the City of Mississauga and Borealis Energy Corporation undertook corporate restructuring. Currently, Ron is once again serving on the Enersource Board of Directors; representing the City of Mississauga. 

In 1999/2000, Ron was elected Chair of the Municipal Electrical Association, representing some then 250 municipal electrical distribution utilities in the Province of Ontario. Ron continues to be an active participant in energy and utility related endeavours in Ontario.

Throughout his career, Ron has demonstrated leadership, experience and commitment. As a Councillor, Ron is honoured to serve the residents of Mississauga and continues to conduct business with the interest of the people first and foremost.

Ron obtained a B.Sc. in Engineering from Michigan Technological University and is a member of the Professional Engineers Ontario, designated a P. Eng. Ron is a life member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a member of the Association of Ontario Land Economists, designated Professional Land Economist. 

Ron and his family have lived in Mississauga for over forty years; he has two daughters and three grandsons.
